The Spiritus Systems Lid Snake was designed for anybody using night vision devices that require a battery pack and safe, quick, donning and doffing.
The wires connecting your battery pack are delicate and can easily become damaged or disconnected from your helmet. The are two traditional approaches to mitigate this problem.
1) Run tape along the entire length of your cable to secure it to your helmet. The problem with this is that you cannot easily remove your batter pack from your helmet for airborne operations or maintenance.
2) Run the cable underneath your helmet between your pads. This option allows your battery pack to be removed quickly but creates a dangerous scenario where the cable cannot disconnect in the event that your battery pack or nods become tangled with another object. The Lid Snake eliminates these problems while also providing abrasion protection for your battery pack cable.
This two-piece, flexible set accommodates unique helmet configurations, and are sized to be used as a single piece for flight helmets. For use with ANVIS battery packs or other battery packs with straight connectors. 90 Degree connectors will not fit!
